Howard Taikeff was born in 1960 and grew up in New York City. He has been a practicing sculptor for 35 years. He received a B.A in 1982 from the University of California at Santa Cruz and his MFA in 2018 from the Academy of Art University in San Francisco, California, both in Sculpture.

He is an active artist doing important commissions in Quito and abroad for the Municipality, National Government of Ecuador and private entities. He has held a full-time teaching position at the Universidad San Francisco Quito since 1997, Ecuador, where he has been living for the past 29 years.
